Brake Problems Slowing You Down?
A new noise, a different pedal feel or a change in stopping distance is worth paying attention to. Here are some signs that your brakes need checking.
What feels different when you brake?
You know how your vehicle normally feels. Tell us if you notice:
- A soft or spongy brake pedal
- Grinding or persistent squealing
- Vibration when applying the brakes
- The vehicle pulling to one side during braking
- A pedal that travels farther than usual
- A noticeable change in stopping performance
These symptoms can have different causes. An inspection helps identify the problem before parts or repairs are recommended.
Should you keep driving?
If braking performance is significantly reduced, the pedal loses pressure or the vehicle does not feel safe to drive, stop in a safe place and arrange assistance. Avoid driving it to the shop simply to have it checked.
For other changes, call us to describe what you’ve noticed and discuss the next step.
What to tell us when you book
Let us know when the symptoms started, whether they happen every time you brake and if any warning lights are on. Mention recent brake work or any change that is getting worse.
